When I first jumped into the back seat of the Impala with the Winchester brothers way back in 2005, I had no clue that I would still be traveling with them 13 years later. The fact that I am makes me happier than Dean Winchester at a pie eating contest. These boys have become family, as have those who have walked the treacherous road with them.
As I sit and prepare for tonight’s Supernatural season 13 premiere, I am both excited yet nervous for what the new season brings. The show has always had a luscious balance of funny, scary, heartbreaking and absurd – and I’ve no doubt, season 13 will have a whole lot of the same.
Below is the official season 13 extended trailer, take a peek:
THEY’RE BAAACKK– — Season 13 begins exactly where we left off, with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) left to pick up the pieces after the loss of their mother, the demise of Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and the heartbreaking death of Castiel (Misha Collins). The birth of Jack (Alexander Calvert) leaves the Winchester brothers with differing opinions on how to deal with a Nephilim. After being dragged into the breach, Mary (Samantha Smith) must learn to survive Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and an apocalyptic world. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1301). Original Airdate 10/12/2017.

Sam and Dean are starting this season with a lot on their plates, as usual. Dealing with the events of the season 12 finale, the deaths of Crowley and Castiel, Mary and Lucifer trapped in the apocalypse dimensions… OH! Let’s not forget suddenly babysitting a full-grown baby man that is half archangel and half human, which a crazy set of unknown powers.
Season 13 should be a cakewalk, boys…
What I would love to see is more Bobby. Having this new alt-apocalypse world has opened the door, literally, to allowing more Bobby Singer back on the canvas. My dream come true would be Bobby and Mary figuring out that world together. Really, anything to get Jim Beaver back into the mix would make me a happy fangirl.
However, knowing that Mark Pellegrino’s Lucifer is back is really just what the show will need now that Mark Sheppard has left the building.
Season 13 will also open the door to the Wayward Sisters spinoff, and I for one, am ready for that to happen. Its such an organic transition, unlike their last attempt, because these characters are ingrained enough that we care about them. And, while I do love the boys always saving the world, it is nice to have a little girl power alongside them.
